Elbow Beach partners with Imperial College London on MSc Cleantech Innovation programme
· Elbow Beach to deliver lectures, tutorials and workshops as part of the MSc programme at globally leading university

London, 2nd December 2025 – Elbow Beach, one of the UK’s most active specialist climate impact seed investors, is pleased to announce it has partnered with Imperial College London on the MSc Cleantech InnovationProgramme, a joint postgraduate programme between the Grantham Institute – ClimateChange and the Environment and the Dyson School of Design Engineering, designed for the next generation of cleantech innovators. Jonathan Pollock, CEO of Elbow Beach, will begin Elbow Beach’s contribution to the programme on 1st December 2025, with a keynote lecture and ideation workshop.
The programme will teach both the theory and practice of cleantech innovation, giving students a deep understanding of the commercial challenges and opportunities posed by climate change, whilst learning directly from a range of expert innovators from across the cleantech sector. As part of the MSc Cleantech Innovation programme, Elbow Beach will deliver a blend of lectures, tutorials and workshops, drawing on its expertise in investing in early-stage cleantech ventures, to outline the challenges and opportunities in bringing climate-focused technologies to market.

The programme will culminate in Spring 2026 with Elbow Beach hosting an in-person pitch day in which students will present their final projects to Elbow Beach’s investment directors. Sponsored by the Elbow Beach Foundation, the project demonstrating the most promising and investable opportunity will receive the Elbow Beach Student Award, alongside prize funding for project development.

This programme further deepens the relationship and collaboration between Elbow Beach and Imperial College London in the cleantech innovation space. Tom Hardy, CTO of Elbow Beach, is also currently a business mentor for Cohort 8 of Imperial’s Greenhouse Accelerator, which represents some of theUK’s most ambitious early-stage climate tech startups.
